I’ve been recorded as saying that the resolution for women is possibly the best book I’ve ever read, maybe that’s because it touches on so many things God has been speaking to me and challenging me about, but I have found it inspiring, challenging and encouraging. I have really enjoyed the audio book which is read by the author but bought the book so I could see more clearly how it all fits together. By her own admission this is no beach novel, but I think there is something for everyone whatever stage of life you are at, in fact the first few chapters deal with making the most of each season and enjoying the phase we are in right now, getting everything out of it before the next phase kicks in!
The book is divided into several parts: this is who I am, which looks at what it means to be feminine, the unique gifts and opportunities God has given each one of us and how to make the best of these and manage the balancing act that we all frequently struggle with. We also look at what it means to be a woman devoted to Christ and defined by his word!
Part 2 considers what we have at our disposal and Priscilla looks at giving our best, and again living with balance not burnout! Also how we can benefit those around us by giving them the gift of our time and attention, and being free with our forgiveness. There is a very honest and challenging section on living with integrity and on being motivated to mission, as I said in my recent sermon, this book affected me a great deal and I quoted unashamedly from it!
Part 3 is all about what matters to me, so looks at marriage, family and making our homes full of grace and peace, a sanctuary to all who come into it. Priscilla is a really straight talking, passionate and Godly woman who seems to really understand the struggles and will talk from an empathetic point of view, I hope as many of you as can will get and enjoy this book.
